McCartney Might Debut 'New Beatles' At Olympics

(RTTNews) - Could a Beatles performance be possible at the 2012 London Olympics? Paul McCartney is hinting that there's a chance.
Access Hollywood crews recently caught up with Macca and asked if it was true that Olympic officials were working towards some sort of Beatles-themed performance next year. When asked if he'd partake, McCartney simply nodded.
"I hear there's a rumour that I might be involved," said McCartney.
He said that organizers were trying to put together "this sort of music" that would involve the Beatles, but said officials hadn't actually asked him yet.
"I met the guy who knows the guy who's going to ask somebody about it soon," he joked.
Sources at the U.K.'s The Sun suggest that Beatles drummer Ringo Starr and the sons of deceased members George Harrison and John Lennon might be secured for a "New Beatles" performance.
The Sun also says McCartney has, in fact, been in talks with promoters, noting that the Beatles bassist was "being coy about the details."
"He has been speaking to organizers and has said he'd love to be involved with the games in some way," the source adds.
