Sir Paul McCartney’s wedding will reportedly tie the knot with his American heiress girlfriend Nancy Shevell at his estate in UK. The couple flew in to the UK from New York last week and have been finalising what is expected to be a small family ceremony. And Macca, 69, is
reportedly determined to avoid the circus that surrounded his doomed marriage to Heather Mills in 2002 in a huge 17th century Irish castle.
“They are very excited and almost everything is in place. Friends and family have been put on standby.”
New York-born Nancy, 51, had told pals the wedding was set to go ahead in Britain “after Labor Day”, the annual American bank holiday on the first Monday in September.
Boxes of champagne flutes and stacks of chairs have arrived at the music legend’s 933-acre estate.
“Nancy would have liked to get married in New York, but she knew an English wedding would make Paul happy,” the source said.
“In the end they decided to marry in the UK and have a party for all their American friends at their home in the Hamptons later. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a couple so besotted with each other,” the source added.
The couple will return to the US for the opening night of the rocker’s debut ballet, Ocean’s Kingdom, but could return for the wedding as early as next month.
They have already selected their rings from the famed Neil Lane jewellers in Los Angeles, according to reports.
This will be McCartney’s third marriage.
